Not only did I have the builder to contend with today, but also my lovely Croatian friend who came over to help me decorate! He's put the first coat on the bookcase, which is great because it means that I should finally be able to start to organise my life.
The main event of the day though was giving my gorgeous but aging cat a bath. He had really developed that nasty 'old sick' smell and he's a bit too weak to wash properly now. So, after checking with the vet, I decided to give him a bath. He managed remarkably well. We had a bit of a fight getting into the bubbles in the sink, but once he was soaked through, he seemed to decide that he was resigned to the inevitable and stood quite nicely under the shower spray. Next time I am going to just use the shower...and make sure I have it set to the right temperature first. He looked pitiful afterwards though...so skinny and forlorn. So, I wrapped him up in a towel and sat him down in front of the fire where he proceded to wash off the 'clean'. He does smell a LOT nicer now though.
We finished off the pancakes for supper...savoury ones first with left over pork, ham and a tomato sauce and then yet more of the extremely slimming (not) marscapone-fest pancakes.
If you haven't met him already, here's a picture of Marmaduke...he really is the most absurd animal!
